Hi Craig! The weather was no big deal (for Kansas), just some black clouds and a cool wind--which actually felt great on the run. But it blew some tents over and the officials freaked out. I was so disappointed!! The rest of the race was a-w-e-s-o-m-e. The whole swim and bike, I just kept thinking, this is so cooool!
I heard Manhattan was hit pretty hard--including my beloved K-State. Glad to hear your fam is okay. The KS 70.3 run didn't snake through KU and downtown as planned a few months ago. It just went round and round the camping area at Clinton Lake. I was in Lawrence 2 weeks ago and it looked great, but on race weekend the whole downtown strip was torn up and dusty, hardly driveable--it looked like they had just upgraded from horses to cars. Bad timing for an international event!

You are so right. I have wanted to sign up for an IM for 2 years and chickened out. When the 70.3 came to Lawrence (45 minutes form home) I had no more excuses. Thanks for the encouragement!
