- My Tri Story:
- I signed up for my first Olympic distance triathlon in 1999. Shortly after I signed up for my first Ironman. The challenge was that I could not swim properly (only breast stroke) and I only had 4 months to train for the Ironman. I think I had never been so scared in my life when I went into the water to start the race with 2000 other swimmers on my first Ironman in New Zealand/2000. I finished the swim in mainly front-crawl (the wet-suit helped) and I finished the Ironman in 12hrs 20min and got hooked. In the meantime, I have completed 7 Ironmans of which 2 times Kona. I am going back to Kona this year and can't wait!!

Your story has given me some mental support. I will attempt my first IM at Busselton in 6 weeks. Whilst I can swim freestyle I do wonder what I've got myself into.

Congratulations on your success with your amazing Ironman finishes! You have inspired me! So, I may be in Hong Kong at the end of this month to visit my sister, if you are there I would love to see you and perhaps you can give me some tips :)

ja wow - warum Hong Kong? 7 Ironman´s - not bad! Ich werd mich nächstes Jahr auf die 70.3er Serie konzentrieren - wenn ich meinen Lauf in den Griff bekomm, wär des scho da Hammer (lauf halt nur 1.40 aufm Halben beim 70.3).
