We really really missed Jill Reed at IM Kansas 70.3.....but certainly understand. Main thing.....YOU are back on the mend and "back in the game".....another time, another race for sure. Thanks for checking in! Stay in touch.
Okay Jill it's set..the picture will be right after the 2nd meeting. I know you have the company BBQ to get too so if I have to take your picture and then photoshop it in, I will!! *L* Can't wait to meet you!
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW JILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your note......I'm as ready as I'm going to be for Kansas. I don't go into these races with alot of anxiety.......I just enjoy the ride and what it ends up being is what it is. Looking forward to meeting you in person in Lawrence in about 10 days. I haven't totally kept up with you......are you injured/rehabbing?
Hi Jill. I am from the Kansas City area, a small town less than thirty minutes from Lawrence. Unfortunately I did not get into triathlons and cycling until I moved to Dallas,TX. Believe me, Dallas is flat. China (where I live) is not much better. I hope I am able to take the hills. I hope I am able to meet you there.
Thank God you are AOK. Good news. Yes, I've been emailing with Amy from Moab and she is psyched. She is trying to get Debbie Blanke from Chicago to come down even as a volunteer. I think Kevin Brooks from Louisville is in. Speaking of cars, my car was broken into in broad daylight in the parking lot of my health club yesterday....Guy threw a brick through the window, shattering it and stole my wallet (dumbie me for leaving it there)....They caught the whole thing on surveillance but no plate #....The crazy thing about it is that the police force workout at my club and there was 6-7 marked cars in the lot when the theft/vandalism took place at 8:40am. So hide your valuables or lock them up....Word to the wise. Main thing is we are both OK healthwise....That is what really counts. Happy training Jill.
Main thing....(at least I am assuming) is you are OK and no one was hurt in the accident. I'm in the same boat financially picking and choosing my races this year. Glad to know that it was open last year until late because I need a little time to get registered. Hoping we get to meet. Happy training!
Are you doing the Kansas 70.3? I'm pretty certain that I'll be there but need to register. I saw Amy's note to you below. You doin' OK? I can't wait for spring to get here....Do send us anymore snow, ice or cold.
*L* Now Jill, DO NOT Tell me all of that!!! Being the type A that I am, I want things set in stone woman!!! ha ha!! Well..I guess I'll just go through whatever comes since I have no choice! Anyway as far as smells and weather Boise prepared me for that last year. : ) It will be fun regardless. Come on, join Bob, Kevin and I (those two have yet to actually sign up though) and represent IAMTRI!!!!!!!
Cows and their "smells" don't bother me (lived in Iowa for about 7 years). Last year at Boise there were lots of dead animals that kept the senses alert. *L*
The route changed this year so I wonder if it's harder than the "iron cross" or the same..............
