My time was 14:50 which I was very happy with. I had only done a sprint and a half marathon before, but I knew my resolve and that's my personality! I was shooting for 15:30, so the 40 minutes was a welcomed surprise.
My name is David Conn and I work in Charlotte and live in Monroe. I dont belong to any clubs - I just pick and choose events on my own. I guess if I had to identify with a certain group, it would be FCA Endurance. This is the group that I will be volunteering with in 2012.
I would like to do one in 2013, but 2014 is more realistic. Cozumel looks nice, but I could only imagine expensive with traveling, so I will probably shoot for Ari.
I am torn on the tattoo. An mdot with 140.6 on the side of my calve or more of a band around the calve with 140.6 and ironman and the mdot all thrown in.

Hey Chris, thanks for the shout out. Got home late last night and boy am I sore. More from the car ride than the race. Drove straight back from Augusta to Chicago.
I would recommend the race to anyone, the swim is very fast, the bike course starts out flat than get more technical in the second half. The run is flat (HOT) and the crowds were pretty decent. If someone is there watching you they can easily see you a ton of times by just walking a few blocks.
