Wednesday, exhausted from a trip to the dentist (and a restless night of dread), I dragged through the day, skipping my swim in the morning and opting out of my long run in the evening. Before I could beat myself up too much about it, I employed the good old Trust & Forgive system. I stopped thinking about what I was missing, made myself a cocktail (followed by one big glass of water), and went to bed.
Next day, the morning bike felt good and I had renewed energy throughout the day. So I thought, why not try to get that long run in this afternoon? I might be tired from the bike, but the weather is great. Maybe it will turn into a good run...
Well it was not good...it was GREAT! I beat my 5 mile time by 3 minutes! And this was outside, in the wind, up and down hills. I was flying!
Good old Trust & Forgive. Gotta listen to the body more often.
