This blog was suppose to be my on line diary of my training and it's been waaayyyy too long since I've written. Life has a way of taking over and pushing things all around. We were gone for 3 weeks on vacation then a week back to get everything on routine again and then gone to Durango again. All in all it's been a crazy July and August but some great family memories and some great road biking. While in Iowa we met up with our dear friend Damon and did a 30 miler. It was one of those that you could talk the whole time but very enjoyable. Damon is the friend that I always want on my team. He is amazing at whatever he does but if he loses, it's really okay. Really. Waaaay back when I did a mountain bike race in Missouri. The weather was horrible, the conditions the absolute worse but on my last lap there is Damon running along side of me in the mud yelling "eat this Amy, you need to eat". It was his homemade granola. What a great man he is.
In Durango I just rode along the Animas River. Early enough to not see anyone else and cool enough that I was thankful I had brought my fleece jersey!!!
I've really been enjoying my bike. Yes, my very beautiful and fast FELT!! *L* I still giggle each time I get on it and I did end up getting the Vision clip on aerobars. Love them!!!!!!! My husband kept the profile IM ones. He loves them so we all won.
Went on a run today. In a skirt. Let me tell you...it was a weird but very empowering feeling. Nicole DeBoom has it going on with Skirt Sports. I only thought about the skirt twice. The first time it was "wow..this material is great" and the second time *confession* I wondered what I looked like in it. *L* I don't want my morning runs to be about what I look like though so I just boosted my tempo and ran harder. I wanted to sweat and I wanted to earn that run wearing the skirt. My thighs have yelled at me since. It felt good though. I've been in a sort of funk lately. I think it has to do alot with my oldest child about to go to kindergarten. Her first day is tomorrow and I AM NOT READY. But she is so I guess that is all that matters. Yes, I'm sure I will cry. Sap.*sigh*
So I have a Century on Sept. 20th and then a half marathon on Oct. 19th. I am excited for both!! Keep training hard out there fellow Triathletes!!
