Monday November 8th starts my 17 weeks to Marathon. I found a plan that was written for the Chicago Marathon that Nike put together. I like it - Speed Work, an Easy run and a Moderate Run- and of course the LONG RUN - the first 5 weeks are doable then it really starts getting gnarly. The Napa Marathon specifically - March 3rd. My research has told me that this will be a good race for me. not hot, a huge bonus because my Heart Rate climbs through the roof when its over 85 degrees. Today would have been a training run but in lieu of running I am playing with my boys and having a beer. ok probably 2-3:). I do feel confident in starting the plan - more to come on that later. This marathon is the tester on whether or not a FULL Ironman is in the cards for me in 2012. I know it is but just need to be sure. A DNF at a full is not really something I want to experience.
