I am having a hard time remaining positive right now. It is ten days from the Harvest Moon Duathlon. It will be my first time ever to run a 5K, bike 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles for a total of 72.2 miles in a single day. I'm guessing that it take me between 7 and 8 hours (30 minutes for the 5K, 4 hours for the 56 mile bike, and 2 1/2 hours for the half marathon) to complete Harvest Moon. That's being conservative, and yet that is a huge amount of time on the course. I'm ready to be on the course for seven to eight hours? That is the magic question. I'm not fast, but once I'm on track, I'll be get the job done!
At least I won't be alone on the course. There will be plenty of other people kicking this course's butt. We will cheer each other on the finish line. I just need to focus on one leg, one aid station, one mile, one telephone pool or one step at a time. Don't think too much! Just get her done! Remain positive and focus on completing the course!
After all, I'm positive that I've worked hard this summer. I trust my coach, Jeff Kline
. He has me ready to take on the world. Well, at least I'm in shape to kick some serious butt at Harvest Moon. For the next 10 days, I just need to focus on remaining in a positive state of mind.
This blog is just nervous energy, and I needed release my negative vibes. Sorry, if I sound negative. I need an outlet for any negative energy that sucks life out of me, and I just need positive energy in me right now.
