As many of you know, I will be running 100 miles on October 23rd from Corona, CA to The Santa Monica pier. (www.100ec.org) The event is called the 100 MILE Endurance Challenge and will prove to be EPIC! What is even more epic is the cause!!! All moneys raised by and for this event will go directly to The 100 Mile Club. The 100 Mile Club is a program that challenges children to run or walk 100 miles during the school year. A New Chapter Begins...
It has been some time since I have posted on my blog, but I wanted to update it with a pretty big milestone. Many of you know that I have lost 200 pounds. In doing so, I had a lot of excess / loose skin as a result. Here are a few pics of what I looked like at the beginning of last week...…

Man it's been crazy... We were in California last week, where I was asked to speak about my weight loss journey, and it was an awesome experience! A few of us ran "Run For The Red" 10k in Claremont,CA last weekend and I took 2nd in my AG which was awesome! I have not done any speed work in the past 6 months, so I was happy with a 48:53 finish. Nothing incredible, but I was happy with it.
Today I rode The Honey Tour in Burleson, TX. It was a metric century and I was looking…Continue

This morning there were a couple Open Water Swim races down at the lake. The first started at 8am and was 1 mile, the second started at 9am and was 2.4 miles. I couldn't make up my mind which one to do, so.... I DID THEM BOTH!!! :) The water was 70 so I wore my wetsuit on the first race and used it as a warmup. It went well, was pretty uneventful except my shoulders were real sore for some reason wearing my wetsuit. I finished the first 1 mile race in 28:02, nothing incredible, but still…Continue
This week has been awesome! Good times with the family, good times with training, and a nice race yesterday. Yesterday I rode the North Texas Classic. A pretty challenging course with 15+ mph winds... GOOD TIMES. It ended up being 68 miles and was happy with 19mph average. I did not push myself extremely hard because I had a pretty big brick scheduled, which included a 14 mile trail run. I did NOT draft or stay with a pelaton, so I could actually get a workout, unlike 95% of the other folks.…Continue
Sometimes things don't turn out the way you expected. For starters, let's talk about my step-brother, who had only done a Sprint Tri prior to sign-up up for IM St. George, also, him signing up for St. George WITHOUT viewing the elevation maps and charts on said Ironman race. I got a text from him on Friday night, just before the race, and it read something like this.... "Hey Bro, just finished driving the bike course. !@#$%^&*( !!!!" So I knew he was going to…Continue
It was too gorgeous outside to NOT be riding today, even if the pollen count was astronomically high! I was able to get in a tad over 30 miles and averaged 20.6 mph in the lovely Texas wind. It was awesome to be outside again. I have had my head burried in the pool for the last week or so, because thats all I could do. Anyways, feeling awesome and looking forward to a solid run tomorrow...

Man, this congestion as a result of allergies really bites. However, a couple cool things over the past few days:
Thursday: I am probably the only person to complete multiple Marathons, Ultras, and Ironman and have NEVER owned a Heart Rate monitor. I picked one up finally on Thursday and used it for the first time the next day.
Friday: Ran a 10 mile tempo run to give my Heart Rate monitor it's first test ride. My goal was to stay under 145 BPM, whatever that…Continue
