My favorite race, The Presque Isle Tri, was held yesterday and I was about 4 minutes faster than last year. It would be great if they'd expand it to an Olympic distance race. I'm still trying to get 9 races in by the end of September...up next is Ford City (sprint), I just don't want the TRI season to end! That does it, as soon as I become independently wealthy, I'm going to start my own Triathlon Circuit, travel around the world and compete in races (and fight crime/solve mysteries).
Well, thanks to 2 weddings and the PRAXIS exam,it looks like I'll only get in 8 triathlons this summer (I was hoping for 9). What a GREAT, HOT/HUMID summer (thanx to G.W & the rotten Republican and their global warming machine). In the last 3 races, I have bettered last year's times by MINUTES!!!!!! I gave up cheeseburgers :( and that has made the difference. Hey...! how many iamtri(ers) are doing the Presque Isle Triathlon (Erie, PA) on August 28????
The third race of the year (The Dam Tri in Meadville, Pa) and the run was very hilly and hard. The heat of the day didn't help (but I LOVE THE HEAT). The worst part of the run was having to go to all of those "turn-around points" (4 in all). I like the runs where it's straight out and back. Oh well, for finishing @ 3:00:50 (my worst olympic ever) I still managed to squeek out a fourth in my age group and 55th overall. I'll take it, I guess. Up next...The Wheeling Tri in two weeks.
