I came across this guys site back when I was considering purchasing a Garmin watch. This guy has the best in depth reviews of just about anything you can think of involved with tris. He's become quite popular, and because of the amount of traffic that comes to his site, he gets a small kick back from amazon.com. half marathon training, week 10

Only one more week until the race! I'm feeling pretty good about this race, and all I'm hoping to accomplish is to set a new PR for the half marathon, which would be finishing under 1:53:17. I've been training to run at a 7:50/mile pace, but that goal race was to be in late October. I am married and have one daughter. My wife is awesome enough to not get pissed every time I need to train, which is a lot. I am a firefighter and love to watch the Suns attempt to win a championship, or a game for that matter.
My Tri Story:
No real story, I just really enjoy doing triathlons, especially the iron distance. My goal is to make improvements each time, and hopefully inspire others to get involved and try out the sport as well.

Goofy/Boston training results are in!!!

Last weekend, I completed my goal race, or race weekend, which was a 5k on Friday, half marathon on Saturday, and marathon on Sunday.  Well, I finished the marathon in 3:10:25, which qualified me for the Boston Marathon!  Somehow, everything went exactly right on race day, and I was able to squeak by with a whopping 35 seconds to spare.  If you'd like to read my whole race report, about the marathon or either of the other two races, you can check it out at…

Another week down in the books! This week was much better than last week. My injuries have seemed to all heal up, or healed enough that they don't bother me. At this point, it seems as if whatever I did last week to heal myself must have worked. Only time will tell if it was the right thing to do in the long run. So here's the recap for week 7:

Ok. Last week, my update on my training schedule didn't have that great of an outlook for the coming week, week 8. I explained how I had a little soreness behind my knees, which subsided but led to a very tight left hamstring. Because of this, I decided to alter my training plans for this week. Normally, I do 4 runs per week. For this week, I decided to take the first run off and see how I felt after that. Looking at your picture and shirt, I think I saw you on the locale news this morning. If your bib was something like 11484 that was probably you. Good going on the race and track #11. I am a huge fan of Jay and the boys.
