Totally focused on Widflower build, few races "running" in lead up. Decided to wait till after Wildflower but we discussed Busso on weekend and I am pretty sure that will be the final race of 2010. Will debut prior but still want more data to help d…

So far so good. Swimming on target, bike on target and running going boom boom. Highlight of the week had to be track workout Tues eve so far. 5 x mile reps, 2 mins recovery. Perfect set of 5.50 average with a gut buster build. LT, LT-5sec, LT-10s…

Thanks Robert, not sure but I just went on instinct and it felt right/meant to be. Thing is he had a huge impact on me. :-) Only wish my company was ready to sponsor this young man on the spot!!! At least now I know where to find him when it is...

You made a huge impact on that young man. It is amazing how we are placed in exact places at certain times to make a difference. It speaks highly of you that you saw and recognized that moment and siezed it.

Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
I have relocated to the U.S and will be pursuing the Ironman Circuit over the next 3 years with the intention of securing a Pro Licence.

Enjoying life here a great deal and looking forward to my first race in 2010 at Wildflower.
My Tri Story:
Raced comprehensively from 89 through 93, represented Australia in Triathlon World Championships 1991.

After the introduction of drafting in to Olympic distance I walked away from the sport as I disagree strongly on principle that triathlon is and should be an individual pursuit against other individuals and may the best man/woman on the day win. Pull their own weight to the line.

Always knew I would return after a strong and quite successful number of years as a competitve runner over both short, distance and ultra events.

Very excited to now be in a position to chase my dreams again in this arena.
Tri Experience:
Professional, Coach, I'm a repeat finisher!
Tri Distance:
Sprint, Olympic, 2x Olympic (or approx 70.3 mi/113.1km), Long course (or approx 140.6 mi/225.3km), Ultra-distance
Tri Interest:
Training Partners, Business Relationships, Friends
My key race for 2010:
Debut Ironman... TBA
My best race was...
My last one....

Crikey I am glad it's Monday.

All body parts still in working order post weekend of action Jackson.

Sat endurance bike am...run pm.

Sunday endurance swim am, coma nap 45 mins afternoon, then out the door for a hilly/strong 35km run. Ate well and took a while to wind down, but had that great exhausted/sweet feeling.

Week 3 now and mapping out the fine print. Emerald Across the Bay 12km this Sunday so want to ensure I leave some zip for that. Gotta roll through, but excited about

Big weekend of aerobic conditioning ahead.

Hope everyone is feeling good and dodging bad weather, if not just do what I did to

Last 200 on the bend of number 8 we all pushed the foot to the pedal and screamed down to the line, at 43 and running stride for stride with my mate Ashley 26 it was super cool and I was reminded age is irrelevant!

First 800 @2.56.....descending beautifully in a bell curve to final 800@2

Today I woke after yesterday's 4 hours of trail running, Felt great... but compelled to consider a change of training today based on instinct. Delete LSD cycle, install LSD swim, attend to tasks, run easy pm. I did a number of chores on the way to swim. A random coffee stop, then in due course arrived at Burlingame Pool. One hour before pool shuts :-/ but I was distracted by a gro

Hah,

Clearly I have no idea how far I am from anywhere yet? Well, let's keep talking and maybe at least convince each other to fly and at the least maybe we can share accom together, do one of the rides/swim and have fun. Then rock up ready to go. Oh, me too! can't put a bike together nor that keen to. I leave it to the experts :-)

I figure that the most important thing is to be able to ride it great, change my tires, adjust gearing and keep it clean. Look forward to meet too!

Hi Verity! I live in Los Angeles - about as far away from Kentucky as you - but I'd definitely like to go to one of the training weekends! I think the drive is 30 hours (each way), and it's too early for me to tell if I can take the time off of work to make the trip (by car) ... I probably could (I'm just working at a new company now, and so I'm shy about asking!) ... but I also am SO bad with bike boxes! I've only flown with my bike once, and I had to use the big coffin style box (because I don't know how to take my bike apart - even a little bit - and put it back together)! If I flew, I wonder if I could ship it there for the training weekend ... hmmm .... well, we have plenty of time to figure this out (thank goodness)! I look forward to meeting you! :)

V,
Very impressive tri resume.....now that we all can read about you. Good for you with your opinion on the drafting. I also like your quote at the top about pipes having grease in them....gonna add that one to my quote page on this site. Keep chasing that dream!

Verity,
The colors of your font on your page are very hard to read....You might consider changing it. I wanted to say a thing or two about you on the IMKY group site but can't read your profile.

Verity, your response to my blog post has me speechless. I am grateful for the words you wrote and will carry them in my heart in the marathon this Sunday. I will share one story with you that I think pretty much sums up what the human spirit is all about. I wrote it after running my first Boston Marathon in 2000.
