I am a 37 year old stay at home mom of two elementary aged kidos. I have a wonderful husband who is supportive of my triathlon addiction. :-) I.
My Tri Story:
I have been a competitive swimmer pretty much my entire life, starting at age 6. I was a sprinter (50 &100 free) for TCU in Ft Worth, Texas. In 2003, I did my first full marathon and was hooked. Since then, I completed 10 full marathons, including the entire full marathon rock and roll series of events in 2008. In 2009, I decided to jump into the triathlon scene. Being a swimmer and runner gave me an advantage in the sport but, the bike was all new for me. I did not even have a bike! After a visit to the bike store, I came home with a brand new TREK tri bike and was determined to get my monies worth. This year, I did 2 sprint tris, 3 olys, and finished up the season by doing the 70.3 in Austin, TX. I told myself that if the 70.3 went well then I would sign up for an ironman in 2010. Well, I did it...I got a spot in Ironman Florida, Nov 2010. I completed IMFL in a time of 11:38:58. My next Ironman is IM Brazil in May 2012.
