"Todays my last day in front of a computer until Ironman. Good luck to everyone! First timer's, don't forget to enjoy it! I did my first one and fell in love with the experience. Came back the next year and tried to one up myself and it was…"
"This will be my third IMMOO. I seem to come in with less training every time, but the awesome spectators and race atmosphere in Madison brings me back whether I'm able to train properly or not. Be ready for nothing less then an intoxicatingly…"
"Reading everyones comments on here about your last workouts leading up to the race...am I the only one tapering? You guys sound like you're doing as much as I was while my training was in full swing! I guess that means you guys are racing…"
"Just a heads up if anyone is looking to ride the course before Sept. 11th, my buddy was out there this past weekend and the locals are apparently getting tired of all the riders. Someone dumped about two boxes of tac's on the long incline…"
"Hmmm...maybe I should clarify that one. In 2009 she was my "girlfriend" and I purchased her ticket for $25 when I checked in on Friday, I took 2010 off and now in 2011 she's my fiance' :-) If I'm at an Ironman in…"
"Rode three loops yesterday. I'm still feeling wiped out! I tried to run afterward and only managed a short 1.65 miles and fizzled out. I drank 10 bottles of water(23.7 ounces each), a Gatorade and a RedBull during the ride and…"
"It has the reputation that it has because it's technical as well. I highly recommend driving the course before the race. Just the loop. It's worth the gas. Hills are hills, but there are turns that will pop up and…"
Did my first IM in 2008 in Madison Wisconsin and my second at IMMOO as well in 2009. Didn't sign up for 2010 but I will do another IM before long, just not sure which one. Maybe Silverman, or Lake Placid???
My Tri Story:
I started lifting weights and running after my divorce in 2005. My knee's started to bother me a little so I bought a bike to break up the runs. Then a friend came to me and said, "Why don't you do a tri with me since you're running and biking?" The answer was simple..."No, because I don't know how to swim." I got talked into a tri, they lied about the swim difficulty level, and I had to DNF because i couldn't complete the swim. But this made me determined to do one, so I taught myself to swim and two years later I did my first Ironman. I now have two Ironman races under my belt and I continue to to look for new races and challenges.
