I was just reading someone's race report, and they mentioned that they gave out finishers hats. I must have totally missed this! :( I never saw anyone handing them out, and I didn't go to the awards banquet. Any way to still get one? I'd pay for shi…
Hector - are they selling the official finisher gear as well? I don't see finisher stuff on their website. I had to leave town first thing Monday morning, so I was unable to hit the expo. I'd like to get a hat, visor or shirt of some kind.
Crazy Canuck - thanks for the directions! I'll be heading over soon for registration. Wearing a "Drew's Crew" shirt - if you happen to see me, say Hi!!
Just finished my third season as a triathlete, and my first ironman. Mom to 2 retired greyhounds.
My Tri Story:
My first tri was attempted on a bet, and I was hooked! With each season, I've pushed the envelope a little further, and in 2009 I completed my first iron distance race, IM Cozumel.
SO, how did you like cozumel? it was not an easy one!

Sorry we missed you at the Expo/registration. It was a bit nuts in there, but was trying to keep an eye out for your t-shirt. Hope your day has gone well! Lisa (aka Crazy Canuck)
Hi, I saw your comment in IM Cozumel about rent a bike for your friend. Ask to Yvette or Enrique from Go Cycle store, they will be in Cozumel: gocycle@hotmail.com. Hope they can help you.
I would like to let you know that I have still 4 two bedrooms condos available, Villas Mayaluum is ocean view, located just in front of the cycle race. Only 3 km from the finish line about 15 minutes walking. Our price for a two bedroom, deluxe fully furnished is 140 us per night. www.mayaluum.net. I would love to have you here this time or next year, Im cozumelenean and love Cozumel and may help you with any single detail you may need.
I found something on here you could add to your "boyfriend criteria list". This would be describing you: "I am an active person." Really means: Aside from my 40 hour job, and the 8 mandatory hours of sleep a night. 10 hours a week are devoted to me during the off-season and 20 during race season leaving us 4 hours. 2 of which are spent inhaling food and you not talking to me, so lets make the best of the 2 hours we will spend together on average each day. If you are a licensed massage therapist or doctor this would make the most optimal use of our time together. Nutritionist is also acceptable, but I probably already know just as much as you.
Hey Rachelle,
I'm currently still training at the 70.3 distance. I think one of the keys to Ironman is to not start training too soon. The wear and tear physically and mentally outweighs any benefit the extra training for that first race my bring. I can liken it to NFL football. You want your team to peak during the playoffs and play their best ball during that time. The same goes for training the longer distances, I think.
