Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
Author, triathlete, entrepreneur, producer and financier with a passion for Adventure living in La Jolla, California, New York City and at least one other undisclosed location.

Where do I start? I love to write, breathe, work and workout. I love people, places, but most of all travel. My soul is made of great music, passion, integrity, adventure, honesty, moments of laughter until I cry, can't breathe and my cheeks hurt. When I close my eyes I can see the ocean. When I wake up, every day feels like clear day after a rainstorm. I love to take a deep breath of the air before and after thunderstorms, and sometimes when I meet someone I feel like I was struck by lightening.

True story: My mom was hit by lightening before she had me, perhaps that's what happened. One of the greatest parts of my life is the fountain of youth we call Triathlon. I've been racing and training for a while, and I'm training for my 11th Hawaii Ironman in October.

I fell in love at least once - it knocked me off my feet, but gave me the capacity to fly. I have had a recurring dream since I was a kid that I am flying. When I was little, I used to get hurt sometimes jumping off of stuff because I was convinced I could fly. My flying dream now happens twice a month or so and I really look forward to it. I can almost feel the same way when I descend a steep hill in the mountains and I stand up and lean forward on my bike.

My entire life is a hobby so I don't have things I do on the side - I just do them all in the middle of my day, and until the part of night that is so late that I wonder when the daylight is going to start to appear outside my window. Professionally: my career focus is to profitably grow Triathlete Magazine- the world’s largest triathlon magazine - and the brand Triathlete -- around the world. Early morning, I train, late night, I write. Working on a fiction novel. My first book is in bookstores - "Attention Deficit Workplace: Winning Strategies for Success in Today's Fast Paced Business Environment." I'm also working on a book called "Attention Deficit Dating: Winning Strategies for Success in Today's Mating Game." If you want to send me a wild dating story, for possible inclusion - that would be great, let me know if I should change the names of the people in the story.

For more of the "PR version of me, the career stuff, check out www.mitchthrower.com."

Is true love out there? Absolutely, so don't settle. And - the most important thing? Follow your heart and to fall madly in love with something. Find your spark, then persue it with all your heart wherever it may take you.
My Tri Story:
...
Tri Experience:
In training, Age grouper, It's my livelihood
Tri Distance:
Sprint, Olympic, Ultra-distance, Other
Tri Interest:
Training Partners, Training Groups, Event Meet-ups, Business Relationships, Friends

Mitch, Great job!!!
I have a short question. I'm moving to Buena Park and I'm searching for advice about where to work out in the area. I mean a good safe road to plug a long 90 miles whitout to stop at trafic light every 10 minutes.

If you have any recomendation I'll apreciate it.
Keep doing what your doing. Awesome job.

Mitch, I was surprised when watching your video as I found it in YouTube before this, and loved that! Great video! Honestly, I was so impressed that I did the same thing taking pictures while racing the other day. Keep up the good work, and hope you enjoyed Kona this year, again!!

Mitch, Great video. You really are IronMitch if you can do all that. Also love the one with the song Collide. Every time I hear that song I think of your video and it is a big motivator for me in my training. Great blog as well.
