Ironman Coeur d'Alene Race Report

Well it was a tough day out there for everyone but the end result was so sweet. As with any IM I always have a couple of goals.

1) Finish - Check
2) Qualify for Kona - Check
3) 9:45 - not quite but it's possible

You can read my detailed race report here - http://www.vandertri.com/racing.html

My second Ironman race 51st overall and 10th in the tough 35-39 age group finishing in 10:06:05.

Thanks Michael, it wasn't my day either though...I was shooting for an hour faster. All things considered though, I can't complaing too much, I didn't get blown off my bike anyway :) I've had tough conditions at both my IM's so far, so I'm hoping CdA is nice to me. Thank you for the bike tips, I appreciate any help I can get. I bough myself a computrainer for Christmas and I got the course video for CdA, so that should help too. Although, I'm dying for nice weather so I can ride outside! I got my plane tickets and housing reservations for CdA set last week, so I'm getting excited!

I miss Washington! Spent 5 years up in B'ham. My parents are near Mt. Baker.
How goes the training? Enjoyed your photos.

Hi Michael, looks like you finished just about 30 seconds before I did in Kona, I must have seen you out there at some point. I'm racing CdA this year, any tips on the course? Good luck with your season!
