I have been a runner for nearly 15years, having competed in collegiate cross country, Nordic skiing, and track & field. I am a graduate student in mechanical/biomedical engineering and spend my free time training for marathons, and now triathlons! I have competed in three marathons, dozens of trail races, and too many road races to count. I want to run 50 marathons in 50 states before I turn 50. I'd also like to survive IMmoo in September!!
My Tri Story:
I love triathlons! I did my first a few weekends ago at the Liberty Tri where I competed in the long course (70.3mile). I really liked being out there for several hours, pushing myself mentally and physically. I am really excited to compete!
My group will be heading over to Mad-town on Thursday. We intend to swim a little bit on Friday at the Gatorade swim and then register. You are going to have an amazing experience. Enjoy the entire week, soak in the collective energy when you drive down John Nolen Drive towards the capital. You will be among thousands of your fellow racers and triathletes, it really is an indescribable feeling. Did you get your bib number yet? i'm 450.
Sorry - 4F is a term used by the military to define someone who is physically incapable of performing the duties of military service. I was using 4F as slang to indicate I'm injured and temporarily out of action.
Good luck with your training and racing this season. Currently, I'm "4F" and unable to run to my plans for a few longer races are already shot. I must admit that I have not quite figured out a good use for this "iamtri" networking, but its so new that it may take awhile to be useful.
