Like the variety in the training and challenges. Just try to always have fun. I'm a happily married new dad of one beautiful princess. Favourite time is with my daughter & wife quality family time.
My Tri Story:
Started Tri's 2 seasons' ago after talking to colleagues in work who told me about the Sprint distances and a local club where I live. Did 4 Tri's first year 2sprint, 2O'. Did 3sprint, 2 O' & 1 70/30 last year with 2 O' and 70/30 in four weeks took long recovery as hadn't train for 70/30. Now the big one in 2009 IM LANZAROTE. *Training Accident* not doing Lanzarote but new stated goals above
Tri Experience:
Spectator, In training, Attempted a tri, Age grouper, I'm a repeat finisher!
Tri Distance:
Sprint, Olympic, 2x Olympic (or approx 70.3 mi/113.1km), Long course (or approx 140.6 mi/225.3km), Other
Tri Interest:
Training Partners, Training Groups, Event Meet-ups, Friends
My key race for 2011:
Hopefully Extrememan long Course Salou, Spain 5th June then TriGrandPrix Kilkenny, Ireland plus final main race of Ireman half Iron distance again.Defence Forces sprint champs in between with Audox cycling and 5km open water swim.
My best race was...
Two days ago in Extremalna Sobota, Szczecin, Poland on Sat 31July. After two years of not making it to Iron distance start finally did it in 13:29hrs.
Also very enjoyable family oriented experience crossing the line with my eldest daughter.
And a new PB of 6:04 in Half-iron distance from first in 2007 in 7:11 on same course racing conservatively.
