Hi Tom, Google Trifind or go to www.trifind.com for a Calendar of US triathlons. You might also want to try to Google Canadian Triathlon Calendar to see what comes up. Hope that helps...
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'll be sure to check them all out! I like your idea Scott and will check out the goggles left behind at my pool. Both Sue and Shannon since you swear by the Vanquisher's I'll go get a pair!
I look forward to ch…
My background is swimming so I prefer plain googles not the masks. I did try the swedish style, stupidly for a meet one time in college and they were not a good choice for me. They filled with water and a 400IM is a long way to go with water in your…
If you are a contacts wearer (as I was one too), make sure to put your swim cap on over your google straps. It avoids having your googles knocked off while racing or swimming with a group. I actually would do even if I wasn't a contact wearer. No fu…
Lynn,
Go for BlueSeventy Element goggles. They fit right out of the box, seriously. No leakage, and a variety of lenses for different water conditions. I swear by them. Best of luck.

I have many goals this year! First and foremost to be consistent in my training! I work full time and travel in a 3 state territory so it's a bit challenging. I've committed to making my training an important part of my life down to scheduling workouts even when I travel. I feel the best when I have athletic break throughs and challenge myself. I work well if I have guidelines and structure. I've always been athletic, track and field in jr. high school, swimming, diving at a young age and gymnastics for 15 years starting very young. I currently enjoy hiking, skiing, fly fishing and truly want to say I'm a triathlete (not just a one time triathlete). I just need to focus on my training and not get caught up in all of the "stuff" that really isn't going to help me become a better athlete.
My Tri Story:
I have competed in one triathlon but it was 9 years ago so I'm starting from scratch. In the past few years I've been biking but not consistantly same for running and I haven't gotten any swimming in. I'd be happy and proud of my accomplishments if I can finish a Sprint and Olympic distance triathlon this year. If my training is going well, I may consider doing a HIM in either July or August (ChelanMan or Lake Stevens). From all that I've read, it's important to train smart and trying to gauge your own fitness is fairly difficult and to be fair not objective. So I'm starting my 20 week training at the Olympic distance and will reevaluate after 60 days. looking for other groups and tips to aid me in my pursuit of this goal.
Tri Experience:
In training, Attempted a tri, Age grouper, First time finisher!!
I too wear contacts and cant stand leaky goggles. I tried lots of different brands. Now I only use the Speedo "Vanquisher Jr". I order three at a time from the speedo website just in case they stop making them. They are for smaller faces and have rubber gaskets not foam.
