If anyone is interested - I included cut-off times in the bike and run routes maps (which is attached).
I changed them to a JPEG file, put them into 3X5 picture format and laminated them. It's good to a have this as a reference…"
"I did a double loop this past week and my altimeter came it at ~4600 feet, that excludes most of the Schaffer Mills Rd loop (I did go in ~1 or more to a round about then came back out) as well as the last Kings Beach to Squaw Valley leg.…"
"Not even close to an expert on 'grading'. I heard the 7-9% from another rider. Almost 1000 feet of climb on 2.4 miles is the second part of Brockway. This will follow the 'private' part of the course, that looks to be…"
"I was in at 8:00 am Saturday morning. Coach told us low 60's. I had on a long sleeve wetsuit and a standard lycra cap, and was very comfortable. Way warmer than swimming in the Pacific, and it felt warmer than the swims at AZ…"
"There has been a lot of discussion on the elevation gain on this course on a lot of other forums. There are a lot of reports that say 9100 ft., some that say 6500-- I don't know what to believe. I haven't been up there and…"
My buddy and I were thinking of volunteering for IM FL next month so we can get spots for 2010...its flat and fast! I really want to do Coeur d'Alene, Idaho though so we might "tri" for that one in 2011 as the 2010 is already sold out.
haha thats a good thing you kept your mouth shut during the swim...im not a big fan of the mass start with 2400 people. The first half mile until the corner is not enough distance to spread everyone out so treading water while i wated to make the corner kinda sucked but its the same for everyone. Its funny you heard the song 500miles when you crossed the finish line...I was so happy to cross that I have no idea what song was playing nor did I hear the guys say "You are an IM" ..
