"Hey Bob. I screwed by knee and am in brace, so that takes me out for next weekend's training ride. Probably won't make the others but planning a mid-month trip up to ride. Will post and see if anyone local wants to join. "
"I am going to be taking a road trip through Savannah, Charleston, and then SC, NC and Tennessee, as I make my way up for the 6/29 Louisville ride. If you live in those areas and want to grab a swim, bike or run, let me know. (June 22/23-June 29)"
"Infinite did not work well for me. I've found that solid, natural, whole foods are easier for my body to process. In addition, constantly consuming those two flavors (I switched flavors from the bike to the run) and going that long without…"
"My motivation alwys revolves aroun how stinkin cold it is around here! Last week's 77 miles in the snow was extremely defeating! Don't know if I can stomach next weeks 73 in (forcasted) weather exactly the same..."
"Jennifer, even though I have a 8 month training program, I only focus one week at a time. I scheduled sprints, Olympic and mini marathon along the way to compete in the ironman. Don't worry and put pressure on yourself. Try to enjoy the moment.…"
This is the link that I found to the REV3 group. It doesn't like there has been much activity but there might be some comments in the thread that could be helpful to you. Are you considering the Cedar Point race? I hear the bike is deadpan flat, much different than Louisville. I have never done a REV3 but I hear good things about how they are run. Keep me posted.....I'm very interested in your next steps with getting an Ironman distance done.............YOU HAVE IT IN YOU SISTER!
I'll research the REV3 question. I have not seen a group on here but they may just be being quiet. I am sorry about your DNF but there is an IRONMAN distance finish in you.....I know there is. I am here to help you get there in anyway I can. Keep me posted and I'll let you know if I find a group.
I am sorry about your DNF, but I would encourage you to try again. I know at this point you are disappointed and still in shock, as I would be. I obviously do not know you nor what kind of training plan you are on. Like most of us, I would think you are stronger at one of the disciplines than the other. Me, for instance, I am a middle of the pack swimmer, a decent enough to squeak by cyclist, but am a strong runner. Therefore, my race strategy was to save most time for bike. Another thing that helped me during my training is running, swimming, and cycling with local clubs. (all of which happen to be free where i live) are any of those options available to you? That is what has helped me the most. I strongly encourage you to not give up on your Irondream. I am a big believer in mentally preparing yourself. I am not sure where you live, but perhaps a different venue might help things. If i don't do well in a race, i put up mental blocks which can often be detrimental to me. Just some thoughts. So please, do not throw it to the wayside. Go for it. I firmly believe the IM motto-anything is possible. I am sure you are not interested in my sob story about how i got here, but if i can do it, anyone can. So in short, I believe in you and that you can do it. yesterday the stars didnt align for you-but they will. keep believing.
That would be great... I keep getting redirected to another site when logging on to iamtri for some reason. The mobile site on my phone is all I have. If you'd like to shoot me an email I'll give you my number. I'm back with the kids in school now and have class all evening this week, but I can still get away with txting. My email is; email@example.com
No, I will not be at Sully's. I really don't enjoy being around large groups of people I do not know. This is my third trip to IMLU, I typically just hangout in the hotel and relax and stay calm. Which is easier said than done.
