Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
I started doing triathlons at 47 years of age in 2007 to regulate my cholesterol ratings -- I was a "walking heart attack" after spending so many years living in Europe and Asia and eating all the wonderful native foods of those countries.

I am now on my third season of triathlons and duathlons. Last year (2008), I completed five 70.3 events and became hooked with not only the competition aspect of the sport, but also the fun of traveling, meeting new people, and just pushing my life in new directions. IM CDA 2009 will be A race, followed by IM Florida. Along the way, I will attempt New Orleans 70.3, Eagleman 70.3, and Timberman 70.3, among others.

I live in Northern Virginia and am always interested in finding training partners, particularly for the biking portion. I am an admittedly bad swimmer. Sorry, but I grew up in land-locked, rural Montana and never learned to swim. So, I typically make up ground on the bike and hold my own on the run -- a classic middle of the pack triathlete.
My Tri Story:
Started doing triathlons at 48 years of age in 2007 to regulate my cholesterol ratings. I am now on my second season. IM CDA 2009 will be A race. Live in Northern Virginia and am always interested in finding training partners. As part of beginning my triathlon experience, I had to learn to swim. So, my biggest liability is swimming. I can hold my own on the bike and run within my age group -- middle of pack (MOP). I love the sport.
Tri Experience:
In training, Attempted a tri, Age grouper
Tri Distance:
Sprint, Olympic, 2x Olympic (or approx 70.3 mi/113.1km), Long course (or approx 140.6 mi/225.3km), Ultra-distance, Other
Tri Interest:
Training Partners, Training Groups, Event Meet-ups, Friends
My key race for 2010:
IM CDA, IM Florida
