"The transition area is about 1 mile from the Brown Hotel.....the swim start is about 1.5-1.7 miles from the Brown. I would have them go down to transition and watch you and others come out of the water....then possibly take John's advice and…"
"My family drove themselves out to LaGrange last year and watched both loops and made it back downtown in time to see me head out for the run. They stayed downtown for the run and grabbed a bite to eat between loops."
Just wondering how friends/family are getting around on Sunday? We are staying at the Brown, but I think it's too far for friends/family to walk to the swim start, so should they drive? Will they find parking? Are taxis available at that time? I know there is a shuttle that will take people from downtown to La Grange for the bike, so that should be OK, although I've heard there arent too many shuttles available? Unless people can recommend something else? And then for the run, they will stay…See More
Hi Deena!! Just wanted to touch base and say hi and see how your race day went. CONGRATULATIONS to you and Ketul!!! I'm glad I got to run into you Ironman weekend, so randomly and what a small world that we all manage to find each other again.
I just signed up for Louisville 2011, caught the bug I guess. Hope you are recovering well!! Hope we can stay in touch. Take Care.
My absolute pleasure to be able to help you and many others....You mentioned conquering the bike.....did you finish the race or not? I haven't been able to look everyone of my new friends up. Either way you are an IRONMAN to me. Stay in touch and I hope recovery for you two is swift.....Great to know you both! If I'm ever in NYC I'll connect.
Deb Ice from Louisville is trying to organize a small group to swim in the Ohio River and run afterwards on Sunday, July 4th. Can you call her cell so you two can connect? Her number is 502/387.7514. If you make it to Kentucky this weekend I hope you have a good training on the course. If you need me just send me a message on iamtri as I am on here alot or my cell is 859/475-3232.
I have to ask, Do you have a sister named Bela?
I am an Actuary in the Phoenix area, I used to work with Bela. She used to mention a sister in NY that did Marathons, just curious if that is you. I am doing IM Louisville in August as well, good luck with your training and your race
Hi, Deena this is Raj from india Mumbai, wish u best luck for u r 1 st tri, i am also looking for my 1st tri in 2012.
The hip socket, labrum, is made of cartilage. When you swing a golf club or a baseball bat, it increases the torque in the labral cartilage and causes it to get a little crack. Fluid then comes out, leading to a cyst or a tear. The test that needs to be done to prove this is an MRI arthrogram where some dye is injected painlessly into the hip joint just before the MRI is done. (A standard MRI test may miss this problem.) But always try non-invasive techniques first.
may be, physical therapy in gluteal muscles solved the problem.
wish u all the best, Raj
