"Rev3Knoxville is my tuneup race as well. Unfortunately with the way the weather has been in Chicago (it's supposed to be a high of about 20 on the 1st day of spring) - that may be the first time I ride my bike outside! :-)
"We could probably give you dozens of companies who organize events. Rather than dump a lot of stuff on you - if you can tell us specifically what you're looking for - we may be able to give better answers."
So with Rev3 Cedar Point 5 days away - instead of racing this morning, I volunteered to work a water stop at the Oak Brook Half Marathon. What an eye opening experience (literally!) I sometimes complain about how early I have to get up for races - I had to be on the course nearly 90 minutes before the event started! "Swimming is my weakest link - but after four years I've at least gotten comfortable! I have two tricks:

Harbor Lights 2009 - raced against my son (14 at the time) - he started in wave 1, I started 15 minutes behind him. My goal was to make sure I passed him on the course - which I did with about a mile to go on the run. Of course he finished on the podium in his age group - but I got bragging rights for the house!
