My husband and I are from Muncie, IN and have just signed up for the Triple T in May. How did the race go for you? What did your training program look like through the winter? I'm thinking we need to get down…"
"Thanks Paul- yeah I will try that next time, not sure what to do right now as I want to eat but it hurts to eat:(
The Triple T was something else! The biking was really intense hills so lots of climbing and the running was all trail running up and…"
"Hey friends! Need a bit of advice, I just finished the American Triple T in Ohio this weekend which was a crazy event for sure! I am feeling good but the roof of my mouth is so raw from the weekend of breathing hard and having my mouth open so much…"
Love God and love people! I work for Student Venture- High School ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ and LOVE MY JOB! God has taken me on all kinds of adventures and I have landed in Indianapolis- who knows where He will direct me next. I love trying new things and sports of just about any type although I may not be good at them all. Triathalons, swing dancing and Capoeira are some of the favs!
My Tri Story:
I have been swimming all my life, but when I became a swim teacher I was challenged to swim more to become a lifeguard. Encouragement from lifeguards and then friends led me to swimming further. Then I learned how to get my mind off of the monotiny of it by praying- I could swim forever now:)
A few years ago I met a crew of co-workers who ran in the morning, so I began running with them- although unaware of how far they ran. They were training for a marathon! So if I wanted to run with them then I would have to train for a marathon. They were so encouraging and coached me a ton! They also would pray the whole time they would run aloud- so encouraging! Therefore I ran a marathon.
After that I decided to go for a half ironman in 2009 and loved it! In 2010, I beat my first half iron time by 1 hour and 10 min and still felt great so now I am hooked!
I'm a repeat finisher!
2x Olympic (or approx 70.3 mi/113.1km)

I'm thinking we need to get down to Louisville early spring to ride some hills. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Lisa
Sorry it took me a while to get back to you...I was on vacation last week. It was wonderful!
My training is going ok. A lot of indoor cycling which I'm getting bored of so I'm looking forward to getting outside. I was gone last week when it was warmer but hopefully we'll get some better weather again soon. I think I'm about 9 weeks away from New Orleans 70.3? Yikes!
I'd love to get together sometime to train. Weekends are probably best for me since I work full time. Maybe we can keep an eye on the weather to see if there is a good Sat or Sun that we could ride long. My husband is also training and we know a few others who are always up for rides as well. We're trying to put together a group that we can email before the weekend to see who is available to do what. I'll keep you posted!
I am actually taking a few weeks off due to finals week at IUPUI but as soon as im done next monday, i will be back to my trainning. Next year i will be attempting my first HIM. I currently do not train with anyone, a few friends join me from time to time at the IU natatorium or running. Im trying to get a team together to join me in this adventure but most people are not motivated enough to do the ironman races so its been really hard trying to find people in the downtown area.
Nice to "meet" you! I am currently training for my first 70.3 in New Orleans on April 17th. My husband has been doing tris for a while now (he's done a full IM) but I just started last summer but have only done sprints. He is coming off an injury so we decided to sign up for a half in the spring to make us continue training this winter. He is also doing IMKY in August and assuming I do okay and like NOLA, I will probably do the Muncie half in July. What is your big race in 2011? I'd love to meet people to ride and train with. We have a few friends that we ride with sometimes but not a regular group. I have a feeling this winter will be boring training so much inside.
