Just a middle aged guy trying to keep the ravages of time at bay. I live in Austin Texas and love it here because I can train year round. I run a design business that takes me all over the world.
My Tri Story:
I took up Triathlon because all other "working out" activities bored me. I loved it the instant I did it but was genuinely awful. I am truthfully too big to ever be really competitive (like actually winning one) but I strive for top ten finishes and tend to get them in sprints and come close in Olympic. I swim really well, bike well and run like a crippled old woman.
I've lost 40 pounds in two years and gained a knee surgery.
Last week I developed the symptoms of plantar faciitis. It hurts. What are remedies the iamtri world has used and have worked? Right now I bought the night splint and used it the first time last night and its made a difference. I am stretching and applying ice. Other than the dreaded "rest", anything else I can do?
If the Boise run is the same as last year you will have no problems. It's nicely shaded, on a bike/run path and only had a few areas where it was gravel. Lots of porta potties and the volunteers where amazing!!!!! Good luck! I'll be at Kansas 70.3 the day after!
hey Bratt have a look at this http://www.plantarfasciitisbrace.com/
