Hi Andre,
Do you happen to know the approximate address of the finish line? I can't seem to tell from pictures posted on the website exactly where it's located. Thanks in advance for the info!
At least you get to practice in wind and hills thats a huge plus. But I hear you about wanting the season to be over. Im so tired of training - I want my life back.
My legs are good, but my blisters just wont go away and my left foot doesnt want me to apply much pressure to it. My half was a lot of fun.The winds were really strong so some of the time it was hard to get past 15 mph but others I was able to fly at 29mph so I guess it was an ok trade off. I would have liked to have done better but the run portion I had to run and walk bc of my foot and blisters. Im about to hit the gym now to swim and do some cardio, hopefully my left foot will cooperate today.
I would like to let you know that I have still 4 two bedrooms condos available, Villas Mayaluum is ocean view, located just in front of the cycle race. Only 3 km from the finish line about 15 minutes walking. Our price for a two bedroom, deluxe fully furnished is 140 us per night. www.mayaluum.net. I would love to have you here this time or next year, Im cozumelenean and love Cozumel and may help you with any single detail you may need.
I thought about the condo still up in the air I may just stay at the Park Royal. I'm looking at flying out the 18th and getting used to the heat. My blisters are doing fine, however my quads are killing me from the half marathon. I figure those muscles will be back to normal in a few days. How was your run the other day? How are you getting your bike to Cozumel?
Bill - quick question. Did you book your hotel yet? I'm traveling with a friend and we arent sure if we should rent a condo or a house or stay in an all inclusive hotel. I'm now thinking about going out there on the 18th since I heard the course will be windy I want some time to get prepared.
Bill - I ran my half marathon today no problem. I did everything you said for the blisters thank you. However one did form in another place but it didnt hurt at all. I havent ran in months so I was suprised I didnt have to stop and walk at all I felt great - now my quads hurt though. In a few days that pain will pass. Thanks for the blisters tip!
Bill - Thanks for the advise. Its good to know that eventually the orthotics will work. I had stress fractures for the past 3 years and havent been able to run most of the season. I really need to strat my running portion of the training for IM Cozumel so I'll try anything. Th epopping part sounds painful though - OUCH!!!!
