Hi Amy, I was just there two weeks ago to visit my in-laws in Kingwood (just a few miles down the road). We went shopping in the Woodlands area and they drove me around where I'll be racing next year. It was pretty flat in my opinion (I live in the…
I DEFINITELY don't doubt your work ethic, but as an athletic trainer and physician, I have to suggest training to acclimatize a bit. Possibly overdress, bring a lot of hydration, get your gut used to having to drink a LOT of water during a run. Suff…
Amy, Being a born & raised Houstonian I never knew what Humidity was until I left for the Air Force & college.
Prepare for Heat & Humidity. It could be 90 with 90% Humidity. It will be a blessing it the weather is cooler & the Humidity is low. Best…
I am not as concerned about the training. I don't mind training in the heat. However for this one, most of the training will be in the cold winter months. I am mostly concerned about the hot run for the race. But I will suffer through it.

My wife and I have both qualified for the 2009 World Champs in Clearwater and we’re going through the headache of trying to work out where to stay and how best to get there. We’re ideally looking for a villa or something similar as our 2 year old daughter and 2 other relatives are also travelling with us. Being a local could you make any suggestions or advise as to accommodation for race week and travel? We’re in London by the way

I always ride up the beach to Clearwater and back to St. Pete which ends up being about a 50 mile ride. Do you have any advice where I could go once I am up there to extend the trip?
