Also, last year I remember the water being a little choppy, but I remember thinking that (except for the 57 (or so) degree water temp.) the swim wasn't too bad to navigate because it was an out and back in a marina, so sighting wasn't really an issu…

Thanks so much for this as well! I also come from sea level training (Los Angeles). Do you happen to know what the elevation gain is (in feet)? I did a 40-mile ride this weekend with 4,600 feet of elevation gain, and I can't imagine doing that twice…
