Comment by Chris Llinas on December 30, 2012 at 12:11pm Ironman ink finally complete . . . earned as a result of completing IM-Florida in November . . . compliments of a master - Matthew Amey of Independent Tattoo in Fenwick Island, DE . . . this one hurt more, in both the application and the healing, than any of the eight I'd had previously . . . a function of location (taut skin over muscle on back of left calf), size, and concentration of color . . . like the race - long & painful, but what an excellent result :) . . .

Comment by Nan Dawkins on October 1, 2012 at 10:01am Re adding ink to celebrate additional races: I did this last year because I was determined that I was not going to do another Ironman (too old, too much wear and tear on my body, tired of spending 6 hours on a bike on the weekends, etc.). I took a big break this year, healed my body and now I realize that I am not, in fact, done with Ironman. Plus, I don't love the extra ink. My profile picture shows my tiny little Ironman on left shoulder. The attached pic shows the newly minted version. I opted not to go for additional Mdots, just enhanced with butterflies to denote races. Again, I don't love it.

Comment by Jay Martin on August 30, 2012 at 8:29am A quick question. As we all have ink to celebrate our entrance into one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, my question is has anyone added to their ink to show a second, third or more 140.6 finishes? I will be doing IM Texas in 2014 and was thinking about this.
