@ Brent: thanks for that recap!  Congratulations on a great race, and thanks for including the details on what went right and wrong, and how you got through it!

Hey everyone, I thought I would post my race report from my first IM back in 2010. I hope it gives you some motivation heading into 2012.

Also if you have any interest in coaching check out my site.

@jesse- doing it again this year. Last year water was 72. Swim was cancelled due to 30 mph winds though. I swam the course the day before and the water was perfect rough as hell, but temp was great

Happy new year to you all!  I posted a while ago asking for opinions/experiences with Vineman Full.  Your comments were helpful -- and I registered!  My husband and I will both be racing in it this year -- the first 140.6 for both of us.

I'm wondering if anyone out there can recommend a good full distance training plan.  I've looked at a few but would love thoughts form this group.

@Douglas and Jim – How much do you lose taking that time off? I am still building to swim the total distance right now, but your plans sound good once I get there.

Is anyone doing New Orleans 70.3 next April 22nd?  How cold is lake Pontchartrain that time of year?

John - I live in Knoxville and will be doing the Rev3 half.  I run on the course at least once, a week and the more I think about it, it's pretty fair I guess.  We're at the foothills of the mountains, so it's hilly.  However, since it's an out and back, the first and last third are pretty flat, but that middle third can be a bitch.  If you look at the map from the Rev3 site, it's from mile 4 to 8.  The rest is either rolling a little bit, or following the river and flat.
