I have seen the helmet left on during the run by a few newbies and a few times and the change tent side flap left open too far for privacy at Clermont FL tri race in Oct and that is really really wrong Seeing a guy wearing white speedos during a race ...the entire race and leaving no doubt about the guys very unmistakable very short - short comings is the worst. It makes you wonder, " Dude!!! What were you thinking?" Just makes no sense. .

On the bike leg of the 1986 Kona Ironman, I did absolutely everything possible to go "AERO" even down to the shoe covers Scott Tinley introduced the year before. My BIG mistake was spending about $120.00 for a true "Full Teardrop" aero helmet with absolutely NO VENTILATION. At mile 75, after being done with the great drop in elevation and a tailwind.......(from Hawi), I was slogging it out again. Around mile 85 or 90, all I wanted to do was pick up my bike and hurl it into the Pacific Ocean. My brain was totally fried. This is just another example of trying out something new for the first time on Race Day. We all know not to do it.......but......some of us still do.
