OK, the 10 day forecasts are out. I know that 10 days are suspect, but it's fun to speculate even if we know that we'll play with the hand we're dealt.
The Weather Channel says a high of 83F, with a low of 65F, sunny, wind from the N at 8 mph. Sounds pretty good to me.
Others forecast a high of 77F, still another forecasts a high of 93F.
Most say sunny to partly cloudy, mid-80s.
None call for rain - at this point.
Latest forecast for race day (TWC):
Mostly cloudy High 87F, Low 71F, rain chance 10%
wunderground has it at a high of 88 with a 20% chance of rain/thunderstorms. I am somewhat hoping the storms will lower the water temperature. I know Walden here in MA drops after a good rain and the merrimac is like Ice Water.
We shall see!
Cant wait either way.
Multiple sites have it as mid to upper 80s now. A year ago I'd have complained about running a marathon in anything above 70 degree weather, now I'm just grateful to [knocks on wood] hopefully, maybe (please?) not have to repeat the upper 90s from the July 23rd iamtri training ride! Perspective is an amazing thing!
the forecast has changed significantly several times during last 7 days ... at this point we are getting close enough to the race so what we see is more reliable ... i will not get too excited about both bad or good forecast up until probably 3 days away from the race ... otherwise predictions are too inaccurate .. but come friday I will be all over different sites to see what we're gonna get on sunday.... i actually like warmer temp but realize that last yr left a lot of "scars"... will see ...
for sure not something that we can change so why worry :)
Just find the forecasts interesting - don't believe a word of them. Weather casting has to be the easiest job - you don't have to be right.
As I said in the OP, we'll play the hand we're dealt on Sunday.
Well considering my luck it will rain on the bike portion.
My First Triathlon was in a monsoon.
My First Half Ironman was in a monsoon.
So My First Ironman should be in a Hurricane :P
