What's everyones nutrition arsenal look like?
I plan on training with, and using powerbars, powergels, and perform during the race, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the cuisine will grow old and unappealing in the mid to late stages of the race. I've herd of people packing sandwiches with them, and it seemed to me, like a surperb (and delicious) idea to give my nutrition plan some variety.
What kind of sandwich does everyone use/recommend that would be good fuel (and preferably delicious:)? Any input would be greatly appreciated! [:
well Q.. Delicious would be a luxury that doesn't alwayd go hand in hand. pbj's "crustables" are pre packed individual pbj's without crust to deal with. 300 cal per. you do the cal math. but they are easy to deal with. cliff bars... are all natural and 280-300 cal. a little heavy but the upside is there are like 15 flavor combo's.
also Q. I will respond to your accomidations suggestion for IM MUNCIE 70.3. that is in my back yard basically. i live just outside of town and the venue. there has been misconceptions about MUNCIE. Mostly because of the people that chose the locations on the venue side of town. south side is not very accomidating. more on that blog question reply space soon.
Sweet! Thanks Jessica and Jeff! I love me some pbj's..I haven't tried peanut butter and honey yet, but I'll give it a shot.
Jeff: You're doing muncie as well aren't you? I may have to take you up on that offer..if that was an offer lol. Thanks man, I appreciate it!
I use ensure, prograde workout and isagenix shakes, tastes great, are easy to digest and I prefer liquids rather than solid as I don't like chewing during training.
Yep, I agree. PBJ uncrustables! My coach has encouraged me to try making "sushi" rice and making little bitesized balls of rice. Quick high glycemic index. You can add honey, Agave, P-nut butter if you want.
But always race with what you train with!
I also like Gu chomps.
Sweet!! Thanks for the input everyone!
Peanut butter seems to be a common ingrediend through out.. I try some different combos with the stuff you all suggested. I'm not a very picky eater at all, so it all is pretty tantalizing [: I just have to see how my body will react to it under race-like conditions.
I do the PB &J as well but only in the first half of the bike. Can't stomach it later.Otherwise, I stick to EFS liquid shot,EFS powder,& various gels to switch up the flavor.
Good luck with your season!
