Comment by Bob on February 9, 2010 at 4:32pm: Jayson and others new to this site....There are alot of good discussions contained above....There is also an IMKY 2009 group if you want to go back and peruse some of the discussions/advice/insights from last years group (good info) AND we have four group rides of the IMKY bike course planned so far.....May 22, June 12 and July 10 and 31....so mark your calendars and we'll have more info on the group page as spring approaches (and I hope it approaches fast!.....sick of this snow and ice and cold!)

Comment by Bob on February 9, 2010 at 4:10pm: Got a note from Abe Stamper (mentioned below re: K-Swiss offer) that when he wrote to K-Swiss directly with his question about getting the K-Ona shoes even though he had already registered for Kansas, they just forwarded his email to the race director who told him "No".....so unless you wanted to write a "snail mail" to K-Swiss (that they couldn't forward) and plead your case it looks like this is the way they are doing it....Doesn't seem quite fair to me.

I posted this notice about the K-Swiss offer as a general forum on this site also (go to the HOME page or FORUMS and you'll see it there). Another triathlete (Abe Stamper) was in a similar position and posted this statement a little earlier tonight.....

The race director just sent me a message and said that the promotion is just for new registrants, as I figured, but I also sent an email to KSwiss to see what they say, but I am sure they will say the same as well.

I'd suggest you keep an eye on the forum I started on this topic and what Abe hears from K-Swiss, if anything. The registrations for Kansas and Branson must be down for them to offer this later registration incentive.

If I hear anything I'll let you know also.

Just did a half marathon yesterday - no socks, no blisters, no foot soreness, etc. I've run up to 18 miles w/out socks in them no problem, did IMFL in them this year with socks and my feet felt great. Just FYI to everybody!

To answer your question on folks in this group from the Volunteer State, I count 6 (including you).....Luke Carrier from Elizabethton, Lea Barnes from Ardmore, Toby Hunter (who did IMKY 2009) from Clarksville, and Ed Rusk and Joey Raboin from Chattanooga....I'm not sure if any of those cites/towns are near Murphresboro or not. If so you might find their personal page and connect with them that way. Good luck!
