@Steve- I did nothing until the Friday after the race. I did a 5 mile run that day and then a 12 miler on Saturday. I will say that for me going that long, that early, was too much for me. I swam a little on Sunday and started doing speed work again on Monday. I ran 14 today with no problems.

@Steve- Well I am sure ur going to get a lot of answers, but for me I did a couple of workouts the week after IM. Nothing significant a couple of walks & 1 ride just to spin the legs out. This week though I am back at it...35 miles of running since Monday.

How long does everyone plan on taking off before their next workout?

Good job all.

I realize this might be a little to soon to ask all of you recovering from IMWisconsin from a week ago, but are there any of you planning on racing again next year for the 2013 IMWisconsin. If so, I'd love to hear about your experience at this race. I've never competed at the IMWisconsin before, but I've heard good things about it.

Congrats to all who completed the race this year it looked like a great day for racing.

Thanks Mark...it was a great day!

And yes CONGRATS to everyone for jumping/faught the currents in the lake, battling the hills and winds on Madison/Verona/Mt. Horeb, and enduring the 26.2 miles of Madison streets!!!

Well deserved time off.  And for those that have another race or IM before the year is over...best of luck and have fun!!!

Congrats to everyone who finished at IMWI!  It was a great day out there...a little slower than I had hoped for, but a great finish nonetheless!

Searching for #3!

Wow Andrew! That is incredible!! Did you qualify for Kona?

Thanks Jeremy. I feel okay. Only weird thing is I have numbness in my right big toe. Everything else is a little sore, but manageable.

Glad to hear your day went well Andrew (great name btw).  Sunday was also my first and I still can't believe its over.  Madison has to be one of the best places to participate in your first IM.  I had a rough swim and took in a lot of water, which caused some pretty severe stomach issues during the bike.  But I managed to overcome those issues and finish sub 10:30 for my first!

Congrats Andrew.  You will never forget your first IM!!!  That's a great day and to beat all your SBR goals is the cherry on top.  Enjoy your recovery.

How did everyone do? I had an amazing first Ironman experience. The swag bags were awesome. The volunteers were great. I never would have thought that the crowd support would be so entertaining. The weather could not have been better. I had a 1:24 swim (5 minutes faster than I planned), a 6:35 bike (25 minutes faster) and a 4:01 run (29 minutes faster). T1 was awful at 16 minutes and T2 was almost as bad at 10 minutes. Overall: 12:26:49. Not to bad for my first Ironman.
