Interesting piece about high number of DNFs and athletes treated at IM Louisville.

Bob, it was a great day for this new member of the IRONMAN club. The transition area was great. And I never had to wait for a porta potty in transition. However, we could use even a few more before the swim. Could the public bathrooms be opened up?

And as mentioned elsewhere, the Out and Back downright scary with the two way traffic. I would prefer to see it removed or become an Out or a Back but not both.

I loved the race and I thought the people and city of Louisville were awesome. Ill be back for races and other fun.

Well, that was fun. Dropped 40 min from my IMLOU 2011 time despite some nagging mechanical issues on the bike.

@Eric Bannon  Of course I'm old.

After several millennia taking souls to the other side...give me a break!

Though not a lot of competition in the 55000- 59000 age group.

So... What Me Worry?

Great day, Thanks

A big thank you to Brant Bahler for coaching me.  If you are considering a coach I highly recommend Brant.  He develops a training plan specific to your needs.  He is always there to answer questions and give feedback.  This was my 4th Ironman finish!!

A big shout out to Bob!   He does so much to prepare athletes for the Louisville course.  His transition area is so organized and runs so smoothly.  The get together at Sullys is always great fun with awesome prizes. It gets better every year!

I think LOU is a great race!  It's so close to me that it is hard to resist.  It wasn't a planned race for me this year but after experiencing a DNF at Lake Placid in July I signed up for LOU August 1st.  So glad it was still open!

Congrats to all the finishers and all who made it to the starting line!!!

Hal buddy you must be getting old. Haha! I do think that is an excellent idea though. Was good to talk to you coming in off the bike on Sunday.nothing like coming face to face with the Grim Reaper himself.

A bit of lighting in the tent would be nice.
LED lights wouldn't add any heat to space but enable better view into ones bike & run bags
