Thanks for sharing Steve. You are one of my biggest impacts.
@Christy-interesting, @Don-thanks for sharing that link. Keeping it in my favorites.
Comment by Christy Ann ElA'mma on September 13, 2012 at 10:08am How soon before we start seeing these in races? If you crash you won't have to spend thousands of dollars on a new bike! :)http://www.fastcodesign.com/1670753/this-9-cardboard-bike-can-suppo...
The guy mentioned in the article from Oldham County lives in Goshen. “Chuck Kimberl is pretty convinced bikes simply don't belong on roads because they don't follow the rules. He says they use rural roads as a place for training rides but don't follow traffic laws, riding in such a way that car traffic is impeded.”
"Bicyclists on the road is the law, I understand that," Kimberl, a 60-year-old business owner, says. "But it's a bad law." If there were specialized bike lanes designed to make the roads friendlier for both vehicle and bike traffic, as Portland has built, he could see them co-existing. But for now, "roads are for motorized commerce."
I googled him, he is an Oldham County Constable, he and his wife have a large goat operation. http://www.skylightboergoats.com/aboutus.html
His web site says he is an expert in researching and locating people. He has been called upon by numerous government agencies, as well as attorneys from around the Commonwealth, to perform his duties. As a former Marine with a background in intel and communications he has the ability to 'follow the trail' until the mission is complete.

Maybe we should all send him a friend request on his Facebook page and try and befriend him. http://www.facebook.com/chuck.kimberl
Comment by Bob on September 11, 2012 at 3:28pm Article in USA Today about cycling in some communities. Oldham County/Louisville highlighted.....it even mentions group training rides....
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-09-10/bike-lanes-rev...
While there may be a small minority of cyclists who violate traffic laws I think for the most part we are law abiding and safe.
Comment by Christy Ann ElA'mma on September 10, 2012 at 7:17pm Question for those that ordered from finisherpix. On the website under 'my videos', they don't show clips of me, but of the professionals who got out of the swim and bike, etc. Did they do this for everyone as an example only? You have to order the $125 package to get all downloads including your videos, did anyone do this and if you did is that when you got YOUR actual clips?
I ditto Christy. Can't wait to see you cross your finish line.
Comment by Christy Ann ElA'mma on September 8, 2012 at 8:17pm Nice Steven :)
