Race Wheels 6 Replies

What race wheels do people typically use for this race.  I am thinkingabout renting some.  I am assuming the course gets some wind.

Race thoughts:

- The transition area is packed.
- The porta potty lines are long.
- The open water swim course is closed until race day.
- The harbor swim is smooth until you turn out towards the ocean; get on feet as you turn towards the ocean.
- Don't smoke yourself running back to T1.
- Pay attention on the initial sections of the bike course; the course is bumpy and bottles get launched out onto the ground.
- Don't torch the first section of the bike course.
- Don't get caught up in the KOM contest on the longer hills.
- The ride back into town can be windy, stay down and stay focused.
- You run through a 1/4 mile of sand four times, the first three are easy.
- Absorb the energy from the crowd while running along the beach.
- The run course lacks real hills but the short left turn coming off the beach and long riser on the way back can get your attention.

Kevin - I love that video! It reminds me of IMCDA '09!

Kevin, that's the funniest video i've seen so far regarding preparing for the swim! I'm going to pass it on to some of my friends.. I feel the energy starting to boil now and I think everyone is going to do great! Skip, thanks for keeping everyone updated on the condition here in CA and everything else you are doing for the group.

For those of you running the LA Marathon, best of luck! I've seen the route and it's simply amazing because this is the first time they are starting it from Dodgers Stadium and finishing in Santa Monica.

If you're from out of state, it's simply gorgeous here right now and despite the 4.5 earthquake we had here the other day, we're hoping that this one is not the one that is going to trigger the bigger one's that normally follows...(haha, just kidding)...

My stitches are coming off Monday and I'm able to walk normal now . I have plenty of Arnica on the cut and taking lots of Vitamin C. The doctor said it's healing pretty well and there's no signs of any infections around it. so, things are looking good...
