My last scheduled tri for the season was yesterday and not I'm trying to decide what to do with all of that time. I know that a lot of it will still be used for training, but doing what?! I got into nordic skate skiing last winter, and i'm going to work on my swimming, but what are you going to do? Anything interesting? Life after training?
I faced the same problem a few weeks back. I will work on the things I hope to improve on, but as Mike states it's breather time. I am soon off to Hawaii and sitting my butt on some beach and doing nothing for 12 days. Ok I might run a little but nothing more than that...wait the water is nice there OK I will swim a little...but that is it! Hmmm I wonder if they have bike rentals...OK I am for sure not bringing my wet suit!
Hum…
• Schedule some down time…
• Visit family and friends…
• Plan a vacation where I can swim, bike and run….
• Write down my goals for next season…
• Get a flat screen TV for the CompuTrainer…
Great suggestions FE-LADY. You really have an ax to grind don't you? You are right though, I've been volunteering with a program that teaches at risk youth to ski, snowboard, rock climb, fly fish in addition to mentoring and working on interpersonal and communication skills. I was mostly wondering what other hobbies these exceptionally busy people filled their time with.
I help coach triathletes, occasionnally teach swimming, organize some events.
For me Triathlon is a release, and a way to stay inshape, i have some health/physical issues so, it is something i do that makes me feel good about myself, and was a lifestyle change for the better.
