I can already tell you are a type "A" personality - motivated, competitive, disciplined. I mean you are a triathlete...need I say more. Your work will follow you home too. You won't escape it either. That is why we all love training so much - it is a true "escape" from it all. Now - back to how we all can put the boring parts of life aside and train full time.

I hear you Jim, and I've done some of that for sure, but work doesn't fallow you home (at least most jobs). When you get to memorize every vein and artery and major nerve in the body school fallows you home.

Unpredictable academia seems like the prefect enviroment to been irresponsible and end up training all day. A real job will track you down with emails and cell phones to guilt you back into the office. RESIST!! You can write a term paper in your head on a swim but you can't practice your swim on a conference call.

Youth is your asset...keep training!

I didn't realize that so many people were banking their triathlon future on the Loto! :) It would be nice though.

Three more weeks and my training season gets a HUGE boost as I'm on vacation from grad school. This will be my last summer due to program internships. I'm doing at least one HIM, probably a 50 miler, a summer biathlon. Are their any other crazy things I should tag onto this last hurah? I have to say though, I almost prefer the consistency of a job to the unpredictable nature of academia.

I start taking Wednesday's off from work this week in order to train for my upcoming events. I highly recommend it to all. Is there a better way to use vacation? Stay focused....Train on!

Nice! Payday is tomorrow, so lottery ticket is on the 'buy' list! :)
