I like it because it's brightly colored (mine is yellow), washable, and fits nicely in my tribag. The size is comparable to folding a beach towel 3x's. It fits all my stuff nice with some room left over.
The trimat you linked seems similar but I personally don't think the cup holders are necessary. Most of those items go on my bike (water bottles, sunglasses, helmet). The sponges are interesting though.

Permalink Reply by Andee Gardner on April 1, 2011 at 10:29am I got an Ironman backpack as a Christmas gift and use that. However, I think any of the triathlon bags (TYR, Zoot, Rudy, etc) will work. Most have a spot for your helmet and some have an area for wet gear. I prefer a backpack to a duffel bag, since I sometimes have to ride to/from transition with it. A backpack also has more pockets to put things in and organizes my gear better.

I have been using some of my golf bag towels which are close to a perfect size and have definitely noticed that the space in between bikes really is not that wide, and I like to focus on useable space, than stuff that might start winding up under my bike.
I just got the Tyr Convoy Transisition Elite bag... seriously sweet and as organized as a Swiss Army knife.
Permalink Reply by Bill on March 31, 2011 at 2:27pm Seems like a waste of money and too "organized" and "OCD". Lately I've noticed less and less space at the transition areas and your stuff gets kicked around a little. Your glasses and race number should be in your helmet on the bike and nutrition and cycling shoes should be attached to the bike. Your run stuff should be on or in your running shoes because chances are you or someone else may have bumped them anyway. I suggest getting a shower sized towel and place your running stuff with a little spot to wipe your feet with a wet hand towel, thats all you need.
As far as a transition bag, I suggest saving $$$ and frustration. I just use a duffle bag that easy to roll up nice and small in your trans spot, everythings coming out of it anyway. By the time your done with the race you or if you have someone else grab your stuff, it will probably just get crammed it in a bag anyway, in my experience.
