Congratulations to everyone who had a chance at finishing before midnight.
Bob thanks so much for doing everything you did during the year. This was
my first IM and my time was 12:44:25 and thanks to the group interaction
and sharing of knowledge along the way certainly helped on my preparation
for Louisville. Thanks, Thomas
11:03:54. The goal was under 11 hrs, but considering the heat I'll take it! Finished 149th overall. Last year that place clocked 10:25. Did anybody else find it odd that there was not an aid station from mile 82 until mile 110???
I am relishing every moment thinking about my Ironman jouney. My time was 15:58:15, well over the 14 hour goal, but very happy that I finished. I had a great swim, no problems. The bike was ok, I started cramping in the quads around mile 80, took the endurolytes and maintained. The first two miles I felt great on the run but hit the wall at mile 2!! Who would have thought mile 2. My legs cramped so bad I couldn't walk, but after struggling through 6 miles of barely walking and eating endurolytes and chicken broth I was able to run again. I also met up with a gentleman who was struggling as well, we made each other accountable during the run and he got me going, I ran the last 18 miles to the finish line and it was the most fantastic experience of my life. I am going to do it again next year and hoepfully make or beat my goal. Thanks to every volunteer, spectator and to my family for their support. And thanks to all of you here at IAMTRI for your support, I will be joining the 2011 group! Congrats to everyone!!
My 1st IM was an awesome experience. Liked the urban race environment and the course a bunch. Goal was to finish under 13 hours... 12:48:24, 680 OA, 25 of 173 AG. Not too bad for a rookie. Still feeling euphoric. Will definitely be doing a 2nd IM.
Wow what a fun group! Is anyone doing Arizona this year? I had such a tough time on the bike---I started to vomit at mile 50 and was unable to stop until mile 2 of the run. After the cramping started to stop my run was great.
Swim & Bike went according to plan despite the heat. HUGE blisters on the bottom of my left foot made running impossible after about mile 10. Lots of SLOW walking those last 16 miles...14:39. Thinking about taking up bowling or darts. Both are in the air conditioning & you can drink beer while in competition. Kerry 2207
