Jeff, I just saw your times... great job in those conditions, i sent you a friend request, shoot me a message when you accept.. i was acctually looking at doing the Ironman canada race.. not sure yet.. might go back to Louisville, the canada race is in western canada right?
#1198...11:34:52 was hoping to go under 11 but given the circumstances and adversity of the day I can't complain a whole lot... Congrats to everyone especially my buddies Jeff Waugh and Mat Winters, you guys rock... and a very special Thanks to Bob for all you have done for each and everyone of us this year!!!
14:02 - It wasn't the time result I wanted but I'm satisfied with the finish on a tough day. My feet got wet on the bike and I developed blisters on both balls of my feet. The last 20 miles on the bike sucked but it was nothing compared to the run. When I dismounted the bike I could not run much less walk in my bike shoes. After putting the running shoes on I was able to push through three miles of running before finally having to walk for pretty much the rest of the way. It felt like someone was sticking tacks in feet the entire way. But no one said it was easy and that's why everyone that finished no matter the time is an Ironman! Great job everyone.
13:06 Had a great swim and bike and was on pace for 12 but nausea set in at the start of the run so that was a basic walk / jog. I think I had too much sugar / sports drink due to the water shortage. Oh well great first experience and thanks to this group for all of the info. I will def be back next year!
# 2443 - 11:49 - not my best IM but I will take it considering the Docs told me 6 weeks ago that I would not be able to do the race thanks to a bike accident/separated A/C - lots of suffering due to not having much training...but if it was easy, they would call it Football.
