It's rare here in Houston that I have to do anything on an indoor trainer, but today because of the windchill being in the upper 20's this morning, I mounted up the bike on the trainer and popped in a movie to watch. The first one I tried was "Sergeant York" with Gary Cooper (1941 Academy Award for Best Actor to Cooper and my #1 favorite movie of all time), but it did not have enough going on to motivate me through the ride. Then I popped in "Seabiscuit" and for the next 2 hours and 20 minutes I was almost subconsciously matching the rhythm of my ride to that of the movie. I was doing some serious anaerobic work during the horse races, and the entire emotion of the movie carried me through. Any other great motivational films for the indoor trainer?
For running movies: Spirit of the Marathon (as Robert Key said earlier), Endurance, Without Limits, Prefontaine, Running Brave
For other general sports: Remember The Titans, Rudy (as R. Key mentioned earlier), Coach Carter, Facing The Giants, Hoosiers, & even Cool Runnings (in how they overcame the odds)
